Tilak Varma Signs with Hampshire for County Championship Stay

Indian batsman Tilak Varma has been signed by Hampshire County Cricket Club officially to participate in their upcoming four games in the County Championship. The young and budding star will play red-ball cricket in England this summer and begin with an away game against Essex at Chelmsford from June 22 to 25. That will be preceded by his first home game for Hampshire when they play Worcestershire from June 29 to July 2.

Tilak Varma has established himself quite strongly in Indian cricket in a short time. Tilak's professional career started with his T20 appearance in 2019. He was later retained by the Mumbai Indians before the 2022 season of the IPL. Since entering the franchise he has played 54 games and made close to 1500 runs for the team. His batting average in the IPL is 37.47 and he hits at an extremely high rate of 144.41.
