RCB Cricketer Yash Dayal Issues Counter-Complaint to Defend Himself Against Serious Charges

RCB bowler Yash Dayal is in serious trouble currently, with a woman from Ghaziabad approaching the police and leveling charges of sexual exploitation under the promise of marriage against him. The case has attracted a lot of public interest due to Yash Dayal's increasing popularity in cricket particularly after his team Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the title for IPL 2025. According to the woman, she had been in a relationship with the cricketer for five years and was subjected to physical exploitation throughout this time. She lodged her complaint with the Indirapuram police station formally under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita which deals with sexual relations gained by fraudulent means like false assurance of marriage.

Yash Dayal has, however, now spoken out and come in with his own account of the events. He has lodged a counter-complaint with the police in Prayagraj against the same woman for fraud and theft. Yash stated that the woman had taken a significant amount of money from him year after year by claiming it was for medical treatment for herself and her family members. He added that she also requested money a few times for shopping and vowed to repay it but never did. He also claimed she took an iPhone and a laptop from him which she never returned and now he is requesting the police to take action against her.

The cricketer described how their relationship started through Instagram in 2021. After communicating online they slowly became close friends. He eventually trusted her and provided her with financial support whenever she sought help. He now claims that all her excuses were untrue and that she never had any intention of returning the lent money. Dayal feels that he has been cheated not only emotionally but also financially and claims to have concrete evidence to support all his accusations.

After finding out that the woman had gone and lodged a case against him in Ghaziabad Yash decided to initiate legal action and lodged a lengthy three-page complaint. In his complaint to the Khuldabad police in Prayagraj he requested an FIR be lodged not only against the woman but against two of her relatives and some other people as well. He wishes the issue to be considered from both sides rather than one-sided accusations. He asserts that this is a staged effort at blackening his name and career at a juncture where he has recently succeeded with his team in the IPL.

The woman had filed her initial complaint via the Integrated Grievance Redressal System or IGRS and written directly to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She accused Dayal of having used her for physical relations on the assurance of marriage and rejecting her afterwards. In her version, she and Yash were dating for a number of years and had trusted him blindly. She had been betrayed and chose to turn to the authorities after alleging chronic physical and emotional abuse.

Now that both have made serious accusations against one another the case has turned a new leaf. On one hand there are charges of sexual exploitation and on the other there are allegations of fraud theft and abuse of trust. The police will now have to carefully investigate both complaints and scrutinize the evidence presented by both Yash Dayal and the woman.

This is not the first that a public figure is being accused of such allegations but the uniqueness of this case is how both parties are also accusing the other with various but heavy allegations. Yash Dayal is not only refuting the allegations brought against him but also claiming that he is actually the victim of manipulation. He claims to have lent lakhs of rupees with goodwill and emotional attachment and is now victimized with baseless allegations.

The case is yet to be investigated and no arrest has been made so far. The police are sifting through all the statements documents and electronic evidence filed by both parties. There remains no clarity about how the case will go forward but the issue is serious and is likely to see complicated legal proceedings. As the woman's FIR is already registered in Ghaziabad and Yash's complaint is lodged in Prayagraj the legal process can span across several jurisdictions.

For Yash Dayal this controversy comes at a time when his cricketing career was reaching new heights. Playing a key role in RCB’s IPL 2025 victory had brought him into the spotlight and many believed he had a bright future in Indian cricket. However controversies like these can have a strong impact on a sportsperson’s image and career regardless of the outcome.

Both the Ghaziabad and Prayagraj police are currently dealing with their portion of the case. Both sides having strong claims on their ends now it is the law's turn to determine the truth.
