Leadership Role for Inglis

Inglis, 29, is set to become Australia’s 14th T20I captain and 30th ODI captain. Despite not having captained at the BBL level, Inglis was chosen for his leadership potential and tactical understanding. He previously led Australia’s Prime Minister's XI in a first-class match against the West Indies in 2022.

Selector George Bailey praised Inglis, stating, "Josh is an integral member of the ODI and T20I teams and a highly respected player on and off the field. He will bring strong tactical nous and a positive approach to the role."

Squad Changes and Coaching Adjustments

Australia’s squad for the third ODI and T20I series includes several fresh faces:

  • Xavier Bartlett, Spencer Johnson, and Josh Philippe have been added to the ODI squad.
