Hardik Pandya Stays at Number One in ICC T20I Rankings as Jacob Duffy Grabs Career-Best Ranking

Hardik Pandya has again justified why he is among the finest all-rounders in the world. He remains at the top of the ICC T20I rankings for all-rounders and has managed to hold on to his No. 1 ranking. His regular performances for the country in international cricket have ensured that he tops the rankings. At the same time, Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy have managed to retain their respective rankings as well. Abhishek Sharma is still the No. 2 ranked T20I batter and Varun Chakravarthy is at No. 2 in the T20I bowling rankings. Their consistent performances demonstrate the depth and quality of players in the Indian cricket team. 

In contrast, New Zealand's Jacob Duffy has reached his career-best ranking in the ICC Men's T20I Bowling Rankings. He has now made his first ever top five breakthrough. Duffy's last few showings against Pakistan in the current five-match series have been impeccable. His game-winning spell of 4/20 in Mount Maunganui and his critical contribution of 1/37 in the last game in Auckland have propelled him seven places higher to reach fifth place in the rankings. His sterling performances were pivotal in New Zealand's comprehensive 115-run triumph over Pakistan, which put them in a commanding 3-1 series lead.

Duffy was not alone in finding himself in New Zealand with the rise in his ranking. Zakary Foulkes also witnessed dramatic improvement. He was central to assisting Duffy with a memorable spell of 3/25 at Mount Maunganui. Through this, he has increased 26 ranks and now features in the 64th place. His upgrade in ranking represents the effect that he has registered in the matches lately.

Pakistan's bowlers have also registered significant gains in the rankings. Haris Rauf, who has been in terrific touch, jumped 11 places to the 15th rank. He has been consistent, picking three wickets in both of the last two games. Abbas Afridi also achieved a career-best ranking of 36th following his stunning performances in the series. A number of batters have also improved their standings in the recent ranking update. New Zealand's Finn Allen has demonstrated his destructive batting ability and has risen two slots to occupy the 16th spot. Young Pakistan batter Hasan Nawaz has left his mark in the rankings as well. His fantastic knock of 105 not out in Auckland has moved him to the 77th rank. His inning was an exhibit of ability and resolve that clearly demonstrated he had a very bright future in world cricket.

The rankings update also featured performances from the just-concluded five-match T20I series between Canada and Namibia in Windhoek. Namibia swept the series and achieved a clean 5-0 series whitewash. Nikolaas Davin of Namibia has made considerable progress in the rankings. He has moved 27 places to occupy the 68th position, becoming the top-ranked batter from Namibia. His good performances in the series helped his team to achieve their outstanding wins. In the meantime, Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus also made improvement. He has climbed four places to rank 98th in the bowling rankings.

Canada's Nicholas Kirton also impressed in the rankings. His regular performances throughout the series saw him rise from being the 91st to the 74th position among the batters. This reflects the increasing talent within Associate Nations and speaks of the competitive edge T20I cricket presents across teams.
