Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav Alter IPL 2025 Standings
Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have been major players in Mumbai Indians' return to form in IPL 2025, driving them up the points table with good batting and leadership performances

The development regarding the new IPL 2025 Purple Cap and Orange Cap standings places some of the top performances of the season at Wankhede Stadium in focus with Mumbai Indians (MI) playing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Noor Ahmad leads the Purple Cap standings with a total of 12 wickets in seven matches. But MI captain Hardik Pandya is also second and has taken 11 wickets in six games. Pandya kept things tight with the ball against SRH, taking 1 for 42 off his four overs. He climbed in the chart with this performance and is now placed second along with three other bowlers. The bowlers involved are Delhi Capitals' (DC) Kuldeep Yadav, Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Khaleel Ahmed, and Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) Shardul Thakur, all of whom have also taken 11 wickets. There is obviously tough competition for the Purple Cap with bowlers of such stature competing for top spots.
In batting, the Orange Cap chart has also changed minimally. Nicholas Pooran of LSG, B Sai Sudharsan of GT, and Mitchell Marsh of LSG remain in the top three, none of whom have moved up or down. Suryakumar Yadav has moved very firmly to fourth position. Yadav, who was in good touch, scored 26 off 15 balls in the previous match against SRH. This performance brought him to 265 runs in seven innings with a good average of 44.16 and strike rate of 151.42. His rise up the ranks shows his consistency and aggressive mode of play.
At number five is Punjab Kings (PBKS) player Shreyas Iyer, having scored 250 runs in six innings at a good average of 62.50. His strike rate of 204.91 also testifies to his attacking brand of play. Slightly behind is Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and in sixth place he has managed to score 248 runs off six innings. Kohli is as much in a class as anybody, courtesy of his maturity and experience, and the sixth place he has found himself testifies to how high-quality players he continues to remain.
Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli will both be seen on Friday evening as RCB hosts PBKS at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both of these players' performances during the match can't wait to be witnessed by the crowd as well as what amount they will be rising in the rankings.
As the tournament continues, the fight for both the Orange Cap as well as the Purple Cap is heating up. With such outstanding performers like Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav coming into their own, the leaderboard is going to change and the fight for the top spots will be simply a treat to watch. The IPL 2025 season is already shaping up to be one full of drama and some truly spectacular play.
