Dramatic IPL 2025 Final Sees Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians Fight with Overwhelming Emotions
IPL 2025 Final between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians became a fierce battle with overwhelming feelings as both teams fought for the ultimate triumph.

Punjab Kings reached the IPL 2025 final after 11 years of wait by defeating Mumbai Indians in an exciting and dramatic match. Shreyas Iyer-led team played marvelous cricket and determination to win with 5 wickets remaining. Iyer was brilliant as he scored 87 runs without losing his wicket from 41 balls. This victory was extra special for Punjab Kings as they had been thoroughly outplayed in their last qualifier game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will now play each other in the final. One of these sides will claim their first IPL title this year.
The emotions of both teams were quite different after the match. Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings, was excited and thrilled. She could not control her celebration and even hugged Iyer and team coach Ricky Ponting in the field. Mumbai Indians, however, were disheartened and devastated by losing the match. Their owner Nita Ambani seemed devastated and captain Hardik Pandya was highly emotional and even burst into tears after the loss.
Shreyas Iyer, who had helped Kolkata Knight Riders win the IPL earlier, played magnificently when pressure was mounting. Chasing a score of 204 runs in 19 overs is not an easy task but Iyer remained calm and composed. When asked how he remained so composed in this crucial match, he replied that he enjoys big moments like these. He added that the larger the match, the calmer he is. He also stated that he concentrated on breathing to remain relaxed and not anxious when batting.
Iyer was glad that all the players of Punjab Kings demonstrated good intent to win from the beginning. He stated that every player needs to be confident and demonstrate that they wish to win from ball number one. He acknowledged that he took some time to settle but once settled, noticed that the other batsmen were scoring quite well too. He also mentioned the more time he spent on the field the better he became at reading the game and bowling.
Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya lauded the batting of Shreyas Iyer. Pandya asserted that Iyer played some great shots and made the most of the opportunities presented to him. Pandya conceded that Mumbai Indians were unable to do their bowling properly in this high-stakes game. He believed their bowling was ordinary and they were unable to bowl in the right spots at the right moments. This inability to control led to Punjab Kings scoring runs with ease.
Pandya did not blame the pitch for the loss. He added if Mumbai had bowled better or selected the right bowlers at the right times the outcome could have been different. Punjab Kings, though, kept calm under pressure and found a way to take charge of the match. Pandya opined that in big matches like this bowling execution matters a great deal and Mumbai lacked that edge.
The game revealed two totally contrasting emotions from both teams. Punjab Kings were elated and relieved after waiting so long to make it to the final. Mumbai Indians were disappointed for almost achieving it but not being able to win. The IPL 2025 final will be thrilling because Punjab Kings will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru who are also looking to win their first IPL title as well.
