Sunil Narine Fit to Play Again for Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians

Sunil Narine will be back to play for Kolkata Knight Riders in their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians. The game will be played at Wankhede Stadium on Monday. Narine was not fit to play for KKR in the previous match against Rajasthan Royals because of illness but is now fit and has resumed team training.

KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit made sure that Narine is 100 percent fit. He revealed that Narine practiced from Saturday and practiced yesterday too. It means that he is ready to play against Mumbai Indians. The allrounder practiced along with his teammates by playing a warm-up football game and then shifted to the nets for practicing with the bowl. He practiced bowling with Varun Chakravarthy, so it means that he has gained hitting form now.

Narine did not feel too well on the morning of the last match of KKR. For this reason, Moeen Ali was included in the playing XI in his place. Not only was Moeen bowled out, but also KKR started the innings in his place. He further revealed that he had been told in the morning that Narine did not feel too well and to prepare himself for taking the field. It was hard to replace a player such as Narine in Moeen's own thinking but he gave his all to the side. He was back to square one while bowling and utilized what he had learnt so far with an eye to attacking the stumps. Moeen sent Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana packing towards the end, grabbing 2 wickets for 23 from a four-over haul. But with the bat, he was disappointing as he managed to score just 5 runs off 12 balls.

Despite being unwell, Narine was at the team hotel late at night and was among the team when they celebrated partying following their victory. This indicated that his health was not as worse as believed and that he was recuperating very well. With his total fitness now assured, KKR will welcome him back to the team with wide arms.

Narine has been Kolkata Knight Riders' blue-eyed boy since 2012. His all-rounder talent has been helpful to KKR in numerous matches. Narine has played well with bat and ball, and has been a match-winner in match-winning matches. Narine played a good game for KKR against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in this season of IPL. He faced some issues at first but then scored 44 runs from 26 balls. He also took a wicket and gave away 27 runs. While KKR had lost the previous game by seven wickets,

His presence in the next match against Mumbai Indians will be a huge boost to KKR. Mumbai Indians are a team never easy to beat, and it's never an easy game to play at the Wankhede Stadium. Having a senior player like Narine in the team can be the clincher. His spin bowling that controls the game and the capability to bat anywhere makes him an asset to have in KKR.

With Narine in top gear and ready to roll, KKR will hope to take their winning momentum along. The audience will be anticipating his return on the field and will be keen to see him perform. Mumbai Indians will have to get prepared to counteract the threat posed by him both with bat as well as with ball. The game will turn out to be a closely contested affair between two hard-hitting teams in IPL 2025.
