IPL Matches to Go On Despite Uncertainty
In spite of several challenges, such as international player availability and geopolitical tensions, the IPL 2025 season goes ahead as planned, with 14 matches left to be played before the playoffs.

Indian Premier League (IPL) will continue as scheduled despite worries following recent occurrences. So far, there has not been any formal communication by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about modifying the schedule. Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, who are getting ready for their game in Dharamsala, have not received any word of changes. The two teams are following the practice as initially set.
The IPL games are expected to go on as normal following reports of disturbance in Dharamsala. The Dharamsala airport was reported to have been closed following India's recent activities involving Pakistan. But the situation appears not to have impacted the league directly. Punjab Kings are gearing up to meet Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium according to the current agenda. Unless the BCCI issues a new advisory, the match will be played as scheduled.
A Punjab Kings official said there had been no word from the BCCI or the IPL officials regarding any changes. The teams are thus proceeding with their regular routine. Interestingly, IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal, a native of Dharamsala, has also not made any comments suggesting changes.
Another important point to mention is that the Mumbai Indians are to leave for Dharamsala on Thursday to play against Punjab Kings on May 19. Even with the scheduled blackout drills on Wednesday night, there has been no official word regarding changing the game timings. Franchise officials have also mentioned that no word has been received from the BCCI regarding this issue.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders are hosting Chennai Super Kings in Kolkata as scheduled without any setback to their plans. Other matches too are also not affected so far, and the teams are also adhering to their training and travel itinerary as normal.
