Bangladesh Cricket Board Not Sure About Pakistan Tour

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is still indecisive on the Pakistan tour because of the rising India-Pakistan tensions, keeping player security and safety at the top priority.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Not Sure About Pakistan Tour

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is uncertain about the national team tour to Pakistan. The team was to travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series. But the BCB has not made the final call yet. Instead, they have confirmed that the team will travel to the United Arab Emirates to play a two-match T20I series. The matches will be held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on May 17 and 19.

Earlier, the Emirates Cricket Board issued a statement declaring that Bangladesh will play against the UAE in these two T20I matches.
The two matches will be starting at 7:00 pm local time. After this short series, Bangladesh was set to head to Pakistan for five T20I matches to be played between May 25 and June 3. But now things have made the BCB reconsider.

The BCB is reluctant because of the tensions along the border of India and Pakistan. The border tensions have already caused delay to the Indian Premier League and the Pakistan Super League. For this reason, the board is hesitant to act precipitously and is giving considerable thought to its players' as well as officials' safety and security.
They met at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to deliberate on their further course of action.

The BCB, in a statement, said they are committed to keeping the team engaged overseas. They are also focusing on preparation, and that is why they are proceeding with the UAE tour.
The board said that they are still in talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board for the Pakistan tour. The BCB reaffirmed that security and safety of their players and staff are their concern. Any decision regarding the Pakistan tour will be made only after carefully considering the situation.

The key goal of the BCB is to ensure that their players feel safe. They know that they need to remain in contact with international cricket but will do nothing that compromises their security. They are already negotiating with the PCB and observing events closely. They'll act based on whatever data are presently available and what is best for the team and Bangladeshi cricket.
